What to Expect:
Day 1: Arrival at Beirut International Airport
Upon your arrival, our dedicated team will meet and assist you, ensuring a smooth transition to your hotel.
Day 2: Sidon & Tyre
The Crusades Sea Castle is where we start our visit, a splendid old sand stones floating fortress protecting the city seafront where lies the old busy souks of Saida. The traditional soap factory, the small shops, the butcher next to the local pastry tiles, the wooden craft street and the “Craque des Chevaliers” will enrich your memories with more surprising involvements in Lebanon’s diversity and cultures. Driving further to the South of Lebanon where lies the city of Sour or Tyre, the “Bass” Roman hippodrome, the sea ruins, the fishermen’s port and those restored neighborhoods.
Day 3: Beiteddine & Shouf
A short morning drive southeast of Beirut brings us to Beiteddine, where the People’s Palace, the Cavaliers section, the Presidential section, and the Mosaics sellers await. Next on our itinerary is Mussa Palace, a man’s dream come true, boasting three levels of an engaging gallery showcasing the lifestyle of Lebanese villages, alongside an impressive collection at the Guns Museum. The weaponry collection is remarkably well-displayed, providing a captivating experience. Our journey then takes us to the old capital of Mount Lebanon, Deir el Kamar, now a well-preserved traditional town. As we explore the village, we wander through its narrow historic streets, encountering a 14th-century mosque standing proudly in the heart of a historical square, adjacent to a cathedral.
Day 4: Baalbeck & Ksara
During this journey, our first stop immerses us in the grandeur of the Temples of Baalbek in Lebanon, where the Roman temples dedicated to Jupiter, Bacchus, Venus, and more stand as awe-inspiring testament to ancient craftsmanship. Moving forward, our adventure takes us to the Umayyad City Ruins in Anjar, the sole remnants of Umayyad civilization in Lebanon. Our final destination is Chateau Ksara in Zahle, Lebanon, the oldest winemaking chateau boasting vast natural cellars.
Day 5: Cedars & Kozhaya
Our journey begins at the captivating Cedars of God Forest in Bcharre, Lebanon, where ancient cedar trees, some over 2000 years old, stand as majestic symbols of Lebanon. As we stroll along the main street adorned with souvenir kiosks, the beauty of these timeless trees captivates the senses. A one-hour hike led by your guide unfolds the rich history and symbolism of the “Cedrus Libani,” the iconic Cedar tree of Lebanon.
Our next destination is the Gibran Museum, nestled in downtown Besharre. We’ll explore the life and legacy of Gebran Khalil Gebran, known as “the Prophet,” through his prolific writings and captivating paintings in a humble old monastery carved into a rocky mountain.
We conclude our tour in the Qadisha Valley, also known as the “Sacred Valley,” located 6 kilometers from Bcharre. Marvel at breathtaking scenery, cascading waterfalls (in spring), and the 14th-century hermitage and monastery deep within the valley. This stop invites a quiet observance of the valley’s tranquil beauty.
Day 6: Tripoli & Batroun
Our journey begins at the Phoenician Wall in Batroun, a charming coastal town in Northern Lebanon. Nestled amidst old streets, B&Bs, beaches, breweries, wineries, and authentic Phoenician walls, Batroun offers an authentic and picturesque destination.
Continuing our exploration, we visit the Citadel Saint Gilles in Tripoli, a Crusader fortress towering above the authentic souks, hammams, Caravan Serail, traditional neighborhoods, and the Abou Ali River. Originally built in 1103-1104, partially rebuilt in the following century, and still used by the Lebanese military, this fortress showcases an impressive entrance with a moat and three gateways (Ottoman, Mamluk, Crusader). Inside, informative panels and a small museum enhance the experience.
Our final destination is the renowned Hallab 1881 in Tripoli, a sweets palace dating back to 1881. Founded by a family of talented chefs, this sweet factory has become famous for its local sweets. Indulge in a wide variety of oriental treats, from Baklava to an array of pastry arts, all expertly explained by the chef. Savor the rich flavors and culinary craftsmanship during this delightful stop.
Day 7: Jeita – Harissa – Byblos
Selected among the top 20 finalists of the world’s natural wonders, Jeita grottos are not to be missed. Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine located on the Peak of Jounieh Mountains overlooking the beautiful city bay. The Ancient city of Byblos is the richest archeological site in Lebanon with recreation areas, open air cafes, excellent local foods and bars.
Start your day with a pickup from your address in Beirut and head over to the enchanting & mysterious Jeitta grottos, a short drive away from Beirut; you’ll then reach Harissa by cable car. The Sanctuary of “Our Lady of Lebanon” overlooks the City bay.
Next is Byblos or Jbeil, the oldest inhabited Phoenician city of the Mediterranean where the alphabet was born. Your guide who’s always there for you will enrich your historical information. A nice coffee/lunch break is optional.
Then, proceed to visit the oldest coastal city of the Mediterranean, the old souks, shops, bars, and the old Phoenician port before returning back to your hotel.
Day 8: Fun Day Shopping
Explore the vibrant city of Beirut and the National Museum, immersing yourself in its rich culture and history. Take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, wander through the bustling souks, and, if you desire an optional evening indulgence, revel in the entertainment at Casino du Liban.
Day 9: Departure
Bid farewell to Lebanon as we transfer you to Beirut International Airport.
